New President & GM at Sundance Channel

NEW YORK: Sarah Barnett has received a promotion at AMC Networks, upped to president and general manager of Sundance Channel.

Barnett had been serving as the executive VP and general manager for Sundance Channel since 2009. She is based in New York City and reports to Ed Carroll, AMC Networks’ COO. She joined Sundance Channel in 2005 and previously served as the senior VP of marketing. Now, she is preparing for the rollout of the network’s first wholly owned scripted drama, Rectify, which debuts April 22, as well as Top of the Lake, the Jane Campion drama that launches March 18.

Carroll stated, “Under Sarah’s leadership, Sundance Channel has undergone a successful and dramatic transformation. Sarah has energized and repositioned the network as a dynamic, multiplatform brand that engages audiences with daring and award-winning content, and I look forward to her continued contributions to Sundance Channel and AMC Networks.”
