LOS ANGELES: Matt Nix, creator of Burn Notice, has signed a new overall deal at Twentieth Century Fox Television and Fox Television Studios covering projects for both broadcast and cable.

Nix, whose Burn Notice ran for seven seasons on USA Network, has had a deal with Fox Television Studios, primarily for cable, since 2008. He is currently working on Complications, also for USA, and co-created the upcoming FX show The Comedians starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad.

Announcing the new pact, David Madden, president of Fox Television Studios, said: “Matt is that rare find in television: a gifted creator, writer, showrunner, producer and director, as well as a genuinely good person. Burn Notice is not only the most commercially successful show in FTVS’ history, it’s also a show that upended the spy genre and unleashed Matt’s signature blend of snarky humor, dizzying action and truly lovable characters. [Twentieth Century Fox Television CEOs and chairmen] Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] have been enormously supportive of Matt all along and are eager to help him expand into the broadcast arena and other interesting platforms. And, in the meantime, we will be launching two remarkable Nix shows in 2015 of which we are enormously proud. Quite simply, Matt Nix is the reason you get into this business; all of us at Fox are honored to call him our partner and our friend.”
