New Lifetime Original Movie Tells Story of June Carter Cash

LOS ANGELES: The singer Jewel is portraying country music legend June Carter Cash, the wife of the iconic Johnny Cash, in the Lifetime original movie Ring of Fire.

Debuting May 27, Ring of Fire is based on John Carter Cash’s narrative of his mother’s life, Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash. Matt Ross (American Horror Story, Big Love) plays Johnny Cash in the TV movie, while Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under) plays June’s mother, Maybelle Carter. The music pioneer John Doe portrays her uncle, A.P. Carter. The movie also features the Grammy-winning country outfit The Peasall Sisters as The Carter Sisters.
