LOS ANGELES: The latest original series to join Hulu’s roster is a half-hour comedy from Freddie Wong and RocketJump, the team behind the YouTube series Video Game High School.

The project is being produced in partnership with Lionsgate Television. It’s the third original series that Hulu has ordered from the studio, following Deadbeat and Casual.

The show also marks RocketJump’s first long-form series and the first to premiere exclusively off the YouTube network. RocketJump has around 7 million subscribers and has generated nearly 1 billion streams on YouTube. Wong and RocketJump are best known for the breakout action-comedy YouTube series Video Game High.

New episodes of the upcoming comedy will be released weekly; each will chronicle the filmmaking behind RocketJump’s newest short. The eight episodes will be released exclusively on Hulu, along with the newly created shorts.

“We are so excited to bring RocketJump and their incredible fan following to Hulu,” said Beatrice Springborn, Hulu’s head of originals. “With so many great content creators in the media landscape today and so many new platforms to find them on—from film to television to YouTube—Freddie Wong and the RocketJump team undoubtedly bring their own brand of creativity and a new wave of talent to Hulu.”
