LOS ANGELES/SAN FRANCISCO: Music-talent platform StarMaker is set to launch next year an audition app for the final season of American Idol.

The app will give aspiring artists the opportunity to reach callback auditions with the executive producers for the singing competition, which launches its 15th and final season on FOX in the U.S. next January. Performers will use the app to create a music video of their performance. Fans will vote for their favorite performances, with a panel of music professionals and casting producers selecting the top ten for auditions with executive producers.

The app is available now for iOS and Android. FremantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment, a division of CORE Media Group, produce American Idol.

“When it comes to talent competitions, American Idol set the gold standard and we’re pleased to help power the search to find America’s next singing superstar through the StarMaker platform,” said Jeff Daniel, the CEO and co-founder of StarMaker Interactive.

Nathan Sedlander, president and co-founder of StarMaker Interactive, continued: “StarMaker continues to alter how we discover and connect with music’s new idols. The Idol mobile audition creates an amazing opportunity for emerging artists to access huge opportunities, to further drive awareness of their music and to build an audience.”
