NEW YORK: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., slated for ABC’s fall schedule, is generating significant conversation in social media, according to Networked Insights, which is offering up its projected hits and misses for the upcoming season.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had the most engagement out of all the shows out there," Sean Reckwerdt, lead analyst at Networked Insights, tells World Screen following his analysis of social-media conversations to see what’s of interest to potential viewers. "It’s got the tie-in to the film series and it’s got Joss Whedon. He can be a bit of a polarizing showrunner, but overall he’s well loved by many."

Resurrection, which is being held for a midseason debut, is also piquing interest. "The concept sounds cool and [social-media users] like that Omar Epps from House is in it. When I see negative conversations around it, it’s usually concerns about how it’ll be hard to execute, based upon the plot."

Of the comedies on the slate, Reckwerdt sees potential in the midseason offering Mixology, in part due to Glee alum Vanessa Lengies. There is concern from potential viewers though that it’s a "serialized multicam show, it’s a very high concept, it’s like 24 [meets] Happy Endings," a critically acclaimed sitcom that was recently canned by ABC.

Also generating significant buzz is Rebel Wilson’s Super Fun Night, which Reckwerdt bills as the "number one comedy for ABC right now." As with most ensemble comedies, Reckwerdt expects the series to be a slow build—assuming ABC keeps it on the air for long enough to develop a fan base.
