Netflix Pacts with Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment

BEVERLY HILLS/MIAMI: Netflix has gained a first look at the movies from Flavor Unit Entertainment, which is owned by Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere, for the U.S. market.

Through the exclusive licensing deal, Netflix can select movies to debut shortly after their theatrical release. Starting in the spring, the service gains titles such as House of Bodies and Percentage. Flavor Unit is also behind the films Bringing Down the House and Beauty Shop.

"We are delighted to work with Queen Latifah to be the exclusive destination for what are sure to be relevant, entertaining movies," said Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer of Netflix. "Queen Latifah has a long track record of creating hits and Flavor Unit Entertainment is a fresh and exciting voice in the industry."
