NEW YORK: The National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC) has scored a deal to offer NBCUniversal’s entire portfolio of broadcast and cable content to its members, including on-demand offerings.

The agreement covers retransmission consent for NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations. It also sees the continued carriage of all NBCU’s cable networks. The rights to carry the Olympics and on-demand content are part of the agreement as well.

This move follows on NBCU’s recent pacts with Cablevision, Mediacom, NCTC, Suddenlink and Verizon.

Matt Bond, the executive VP of content distribution at NBCUniversal said, “This agreement continues our successful and long standing partnership with NRTC and underscores our commitment to TV Everywhere. I’m pleased NRTC appreciates the value our strong portfolio of broadcast stations, cable networks and Olympics coverage we deliver to their subscribers.”

“We’re excited to expand our TV Everywhere offering, MyTimeTV, with content from NBCUniversal’s diverse networks,” added Madeleine Forrer, NRTC’s VP of video services. “This summer, our members participated in NBCUniversal’s Olympics authenticated, multiplatform offering, and we’re happy to continue this relationship with expanded content rights from NBCUniversal’s networks, including both authenticated live channels and FVOD as well as program restart.”
