NBCU Licenses Films to Crackle

CULVER CITY: Crackle and NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution have signed an exclusive, multiyear agreement for the streaming of feature films.

Crackle users can now access a number of new library feature films from the NBCU portfolio for free on the ad-supported streaming service. In total, more than 140 new library titles will be rolling out over the next three years under the pact. Among the titles featured within the deal are Miami Vice, Jarhead, the King Kong remake and Ray.

“As an ad-supported, over-the-top network we pride ourselves on having a prime selection of premium content. Bringing NBCUniversal’s collection of library films to Crackle complements our original programming and reinforces our commitment to provide viewers with even more streaming choices,” said Philip Lynch, the senior VP of digital networks and games for Sony Pictures Television.
