NBC Orders 24/7 Live Competition Show

UNIVERSAL CITY: The Million Second Quiz is a brand-new live competition show for NBC that sees contestants battle each other through rounds of trivia for 12 consecutive days and nights.

The show will run in prime time, live from a gigantic hourglass-shaped structure in Manhattan. This will serve as the living quarters of the reigning champions, which are the four players who have stayed in the game the longest. Participants have the chance to play for up to two weeks as other contestants attempt to unseat them during the prime-time show. The Million Second Quiz continues on 24 hours a day, as a fully convergent TV experience that lets the viewer engage in an unprecedented level of interactivity and win the chance to appear on the series. NBC affiliates will get the chance to interact live throughout the day and during the prime-time show to be part of the game and showcase local contestants from their area.

The show is produced by ALL3MEDIA America, Studio Lambert and Universal Television.

Paul Telegdy, the president of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment, said, “The Million Second Quiz is a genre-redefining spectacle. It is a game, a social experiment, and a live interactive event all wrapped into a uniquely sticky entertainment experience. What is exceptional about The Million Second Quiz is that it embraces technology’s ability to allow everyone in America to actively participate and compete in a way that has never been done.”
