National Geographic Channel Makes Pair of Promotions

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Heather Moran has been upped to executive VP of programming and strategy for National Geographic Channel (NGC) in the U.S., while Brad Dancer was promoted to senior VP of programming planning and research for NGC U.S. and Nat Geo WILD.

In her new role, Moran will be charged with managing the network’s programming, strategy and content, as well as development and production. She was previously the the senior VP of global programming and strategic development. Prior to joining the company, she held the title of VP of programming at The Style Network.

Dancer is now responsible for supervising the distribution of NGC and WILD productions, while also overseeing day-to-day scheduling and long-term schedule planning for both channels. He is currently the senior VP of audience and business development for NGC U.S. and Nat Geo WILD.

Both Moran and Dancer will continue to work under Howard T. Owens, the president of NGC.

"Heather and Brad are both key members of the senior team at National Geographic Channels, and these new roles not only recognize their valuable contribution to the networks’ growth, but also continue to position them as leaders within the industry," said David Lyle, the CEO of NGC.
