MTV’s Jersey Shore to End After Season Six

NEW YORK: The sixth season of Jersey Shore, which premieres on MTV on October 4, is set to be its last.

MTV will be airing a season’s worth of farewell programming, starting September 6. At 6 p.m., MTV will be screening exclusive first-look footage from the final season in a one-hour retrospective special, which will feature cast interviews. At 7 p.m., members of the Jersey Shore cast will gather to discuss the show’s end. Following the season six premiere, on October 4 at 10 p.m., MTV will supply bonus programming each week at 11 p.m. following all-new episodes.

The show is MTV’s highest rated series ever in the network’s history. Its success has spawned a number of spin-off shows, including The Pauly D Project and Snooki & JWOWW.
