NEW YORK: For the first time in MTV history, viewers can catch the first episode of the network’s latest scripted comedy series, Faking It, on the MTV app starting today for 48 hours.

The full episode will be available on iOS, Android and Xbox 360 for Xbox Live Gold members in the U.S. The series, a romantic comedy about two best friends who feign being lesbians in order to be popular, will make its television debut April 22 at 10:30 p.m. Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov created the series, with Carter Covington exec producing.

Recently, MTV released the entire docudrama Wait ’Til Next Year on its app a week before the episode aired on television. The experiment to deliver content to fans across platforms resulted in the preview generating a 47-percent increase in app downloads, with the series premiere drawing an 8-percent uptick in P12-17.
