MIPCOM Spotlight: Vision Films

CANNES: One of the titles being presented by Vision Films at the market is True Health: Body, Mind, Spirit, a new series that looks at how to live a happy and healthy life from the inside out.

The company is also offering up the new holiday movies A Doggone Christmas and A Miracle On Christmas Lake; the comedy Sam, which marks the directorial debut of Mel Brooks’ son; and the animated feature Gadgetgang in Outer Space, which Lise Romanoff, the managing director and CEO of worldwide distribution at Vision Films, describes as “Star Wars meets The Minions.”

“Our newest documentaries consist of How The Beatles Changed the World, [about] the cultural, social, spiritual and musical revolution ignited by The Beatles; Hamilton: One Shot to Broadway, an unlikely marriage of hip-hop and history; and three brand-new nature documentaries deliverable in 4K: Evolution, The Red Sea and The Great Barrier Reef,” says Romanoff.

“We choose films with a diverse and universal appeal,” she adds. “We are seeking both feature films and documentary acquisitions for our domestic division that recently secured an output deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. We are releasing between two and four films each month across DVD, VOD and TV.”
