MarVista to Rep Romantic Comedy Sex Ed in North America

LOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment has picked up the North American distribution rights for Sex Ed, a romantic comedy film starring Haley Joel Osment that is slated for theatrical and VOD release in the fall.

Written by Bill Kennedy (House of Cards), Sex Ed is about a new teacher who decides that his middle school students should be learning about sex. Starring alongside Osment is Lorenza Izzo (The Green Inferno), Glen Powell (Expendables 3), Matt Walsh (Veep), Retta (Parks and Recreation), Abby Elliott (Saturday Night Live), Castille Landon (Among Ravens) and Lamorne Morris (The New Girl). The movie will hit select theaters and become available on VOD on Friday, November 7.

Dori Sperko, producer for Sweet Tomato Films, noted: "We're very excited to have MarVista on board. Sex Ed is a funny, commercial comedy with a great deal of heart and I'm thrilled to bring it to the market."

This strategy will ensure that the movie can reach the widest possible audience and we anticipate strong word-of-mouth to drive a successful launch."
