LOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment has picked up the rights for a number of disaster, family drama, thriller and supernatural telefilms, all of which are to be promoted by the company at this year’s MIPTV.

Among the titles in MarVista’s catalogue is Rock Storm Productions’ Stonados, which follows a series of stone-throwing tornadoes in Boston. There is also Twist of Fate, a family drama starring Grammy Award-winner Toni Braxton, who portrays a single mother leading an Alabama gospel choir.

The company will also be presenting four new thrillers: The Nightmare Nanny (Feifer Worldwide), about a babysitter with a dark past; Gone Missing (Vanished Prods), which follows a mother’s search for her daughter; Assumed Killer (Concord Films), centered on a murder-investigating reporter who wakes up with amnesia; and Bad Behavior (Right Next Door Movie), which tells the story of a babysitter who is being stalked. In addition, MarVista is highlighting Ghoul, a supernatural flick from Modern Ghoul, based on the book by Brian Keene.

"MarVista’s production partners have delivered a wealth of intriguing and engaging family dramas, edgy thrillers and disaster and supernatural films that will completely engage today’s audiences," said Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista Entertainment.
