MarVista Licenses New TV Movie to Lifetime

LOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment has licensed the original movie Starving in Suburbia to Lifetime in the U.S., where it will broadcast on April 26.

The TV movie stars Laura Wiggins of Shameless. The drama, also titled Thinspiration for the international market, tells the story of a 17-year-old dancer who joins a "thinspiration" website and devotes herself to the idea of "thin." She soon becomes consumed by the dark world of anorexia. MarVista’s Fernando Szew, Sharon Bordas and Hannah Pillemer executive produced in association with Indy Entertainment.

Starving in Suburbia is one of six new TV movies that MarVista is bringing to MIPTV. Also a highlight are the holiday-themed titles Kristin's Christmas Past, A Fairytale Christmas and My Santa. Further highlights are Runaway (a.k.a. Off the Grid) and Fatal Acquittal.
