Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Media Group has entered into a development and production deal with Josh Greenberg, showrunner and co-executive producer of seasons one and three of Lip Sync Battle.

Greenberg will develop and executive produce a range of formats in the music competition space, as well as other unscripted content. He will work closely with Pilgrim’s chief creative officer, Johnny Gould, and the company’s VP and head of development, Nicole Silveira, in this process. The first series planned to go to market as a result of this agreement are the music competition shows The Protégé and The Music Makers (working titles).

In addition to Lip Sync Battle, Greenberg’s credits include 2017’s MTV Movie & TV Awards, NBC’s The Sing-Off and MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew.

Piligian said, “Josh Greenberg has been one of unscripted’s key creatives in the music and performance competition space, and we believe his expertise and bold approach is a great fit for Pilgrim. We’re excited to be working with Josh and to take these and many other series out to the marketplace.”
