Lionsgate Enters New TV Development Deal

SANTA MONICA: The writer-producer Matt Williams and his Wind Dancer Films production banner have entered into a first-look TV deal with Lionsgate.

Williams has been nominated for Emmys six times, for his work on shows such as Home Improvement, Roseanne and The Cosby Show. He is also a successful film producer, having worked on the movies Bernie, As Cool As I Am and What Women Want. Williams will now be working with Lionsgate to develop comedies and dramas for television.

“Matt and his partners at Wind Dancer are masterful producers, known for creating and developing distinctive original material with great success,” said Kevin Beggs, the president of Lionsgate Television Group. “We’ve already discussed a number of exciting ideas and can’t wait to get started.”

“I am very excited to be working with Kevin and his team at Lionsgate,” added Williams. “It feels like a great match for Wind Dancer Films and we look forward to this collaboration.”
