LOS ANGELES: Lifetime has hired a new exec to help oversee the development and production of its original movies.

Tia Maggini, formerly of Josephson Entertainment, joins the network as VP of original movies. She’ll be based in Los Angeles, where she’ll report to Tanya Lopez, Lifetime’s senior VP of original movies.

Maggini served as VP of television for Josephson, managing all areas of TV development on behalf of the company, including AMC’s Turn. She’s also held the posts of senior executive for Marc Platt Productions and creative executive and story editor for Red Wagon Entertainment.

“I am delighted to have Tia join our team,” Lopez said. “She brings experience and relationships, along with a fantastic attitude that will only help our department grow even stronger than it already is.”
