Licensees Announced for Star Trek’s 50th Anniversary

NEW YORK: To mark the 50th anniversary of the popular Star Trek franchise, CBS Consumer Products has revealed a lineup of licensed products and events that will debut throughout the year.

Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy various firsts for Star Trek, from a themed corn maze in Spring Grove, Ill., to adult coloring books from Dark Hose Comics, an arcade game from Dave & Busters and sewing patterns from Simplicity Creative Group.

A number of Star Trek baseball nights will also take place throughout the season. Baseball teams including the Boston Red Sox, Miami Marlins, Las Vegas 51s and the Vermont Lake Monsters will all host a Star Trek night. Each event will include an exclusive Star Trek product, available only with ticket purchase to the game.

Additional licensees and products include License Factory in Germany for apparel and accessories, plus a host of partners in the novelty and collectibles categories. Those licensees are Acme Trading Co. for tin vehicles (Franklin Mint co-brand); Colorforms for original colorforms sets; First Commemorative Mint, which will work on U.S. coins and stamps; F-toys Confect Co. in Japan for ship models with candy; Jada Group for die-cast figures; Germany’s M2D2 Kreativagentur for novelty cups; and The Wish Factory for stackable collectibles.

Licensees on the games front also include Jumbo Games in Europe for puzzles

A Star Trek movie is due out this summer while a new TV show will launch next year.
