Liberty Global Appoints Replacement for Senior Exec

ENGLEWOOD: Liberty Global has named Bryan Hall the senior VP, general counsel and secretary, succeeding Elizabeth Markowski, who has retired.

Hall will be based in Denver as a member of the company’s executive management committee and will report to Mike Fries, the president and CEO of Liberty Global. Hall previously served as secretary and general counsel for Virgin Media from June 2004 until January 2011, where he oversaw Virgin’s legal and regulatory activities and played a key role in Virgin’s M&A, financing and strategic initiatives.

Fries said: “I am thrilled to welcome Bryan to our senior management team. With his long background in international cable and extensive experience in M&A, financing and regulatory matters, he is uniquely qualified for this position and will add value to our group on day one.”

Fries added: “I have worked with Liz Markowski from the time we formed Liberty Global in 2005. She has been one of my most trusted executives. I would like to thank her personally for her incredible energy and tenacity—we shall miss her knowledgeable and wise counsel.”
