BURBANK: Legendary Entertainment has acquired Felicia Day’s digital entertainment brand Geek & Sundry, which has more than 1.4 million subscribers across its YouTube network and branded Hulu channel.

Geek & Sundry has a flagship YouTube channel and network of community-based content. The brand has more than 12 million fans across all of its social networks. Alongside Nerdist, Geek & Sundry will be among the first to leverage Legendary’s new digital network, a fully supported platform providing advertising, marketing, audience development and production infrastructure to digital brands and talent. Through its newly developed digital network, Legendary will also serve as an incubator for IP creation and talent discovery through its film, TV and comics divisions.

Additionally, Legendary Television has entered into a deal with Day to develop both scripted and non-scripted projects for television and digital platforms as a creator and star.

“Geek & Sundry has a passionate fan base with one of the most recognizable brands in the community. We are thrilled to have Felicia’s talent, creativity and ingenuity become a part of our growing digital team,” said Bruce Rosenblum, the president of Legendary Television and Digital Media. “Bringing Felicia and her stable of branded digital content to Legendary gives the Geek & Sundry properties access to our unique digital infrastructure and also brings us a step closer to expanding the Legendary brand beyond traditional media platforms.”

“I am thrilled to have Geek & Sundry partner with a company I admire and that aligns authentically with my audience's interests. As someone who's been working in digital entertainment for eight years, I am excited to see my company grow with Legendary, and to be able to keep making award-winning content within the changing digital landscape,” said Day. “And as a creator, I look forward to making fantastic things together, bringing projects I am passionate about to all platforms.”
