L.A. Screenings Spotlight: New Films International

LOS ANGELES: Set in the world of illegal car racing, the action-packed series Torque is being presented by New Films International for presales at the L.A. Screenings.

The company is co-producing the show with Mediaset in Italy, Lagardère in France, Dori Media in Israel and Nova TV in Bulgaria. “Torque will be very appealing to the international market since [we] believe the market needs a car-racing show at the moment,” says Nesim Hason, the founder and CEO of New Films.

The company is also offering up the fifth season of Undercover, a crime series that has been sold into 186 countries around the globe, and the second season of New York, an Israeli show that takes place in the Big Apple. “New York tells the story of immigrants in the U.S., which is a very popular subject these days,” Hason adds.

Hason explains that one of his key goals for the L.A. Screenings is to “find more co-production partners to produce more TV shows.”
