SHERMAN OAKS: ITV Studios America has firmed up an exclusive producer overall deal with Assembly Entertainment, led by former Cineflix Studios president Christina Wayne.

This is the first exclusive POD deal since Philippe Maigret was named president of ITV Studios America.

Wayne and her team will respectively relocate to ITV Studios America’s offices in New York and Los Angeles. Her team will include Assembly Entertainment’s director of development, Lauren Paget, who joined the company in November 2013 from Shine America.

As CEO of Assembly Entertainment, Wayne develops and produces scripted dramas worldwide, including I’m Dying Up Here for Showtime and nine one-hour cable dramas in active development at Cinemax, Amazon, WGN, USA, A+E and BBC America. Prior to setting up Assembly, Wayne was president at Cineflix Studios and was an executive producer on BBC America’s Copper. She was also senior VP of scripted series/miniseries for AMC, where she led the development and production on Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Broken Trail.

“As I set my sights on identifying the best scripted programming for ITV Studios America, I want to surround myself with great talent,” said Maigret. “Christina and her team were tantamount to my success at Endemol when I signed them as my first pod deal and their keen sense of identifying great material and attracting stellar talent consistently impresses me. I look forward to continuing our journey of making great television together.”

“Philippe and I share a love for great storytelling and our partnerships have always proved fruitful,” added Wayne. “I’m ecstatic to be his first POD deal once again and to work together in building a great scripted roster for ITV Studios America.”
