ITV Studios America Adds to East Coast Management Team

SHERMAN OAKS: Rob Shaftel has been named the new senior VP of development for ITV Studios America’s East Coast division.

Based in New York, Shaftel will work under Bruce Robertson, the company’s head of development. He will be charged with developing new programming for the U.S. broadcast and cable markets.

In the past, Shaftel held the title of VP of development at Leftfield Pictures, where he supervised the development of nearly two dozen shows for a number of cable networks. Before that, he worked in program development at Discovery, for which he produced such shows as Destroyed in Seconds and Verminators.

"Rob comes to us with a fantastic track record and tremendous skill in developing hit shows," said Robertson. "His expertise will help ITV Studios America continue to expand both our New York office and the success of our non-scripted offerings in the United States. We’re delighted to have him on board."
