International Emmy World Television Festival to Celebrate Award Nominees

NEW YORK: The International Emmy World Television Festival, scheduled for the weekend before the 40th annual Awards Gala, will feature panels and presentations that help celebrate this year’s crop of nominees.

The Festival will take place Saturday, November 17, and Sunday, November 18, at the New York Sofitel Hotel. Ricardo B. Salinas, the chairman of Azteca and the 2012 Gala Chair, will kick things off with a cocktail party on Friday, November 16. Liu Changle, the chairman of Phoenix Satellite Television, will chair the Festival.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward Office of Film & Entertainment will host the traditional Sunday Board & Members Breakfast, where it will present its latest tax incentive programs for U.S. and international producers. HBO will host the Festival’s closing cocktail as well as Azteca.

Also, throughout the weekend representatives of the nominated programs will join members of the International Academy of Television Arts & Science, jurors, sponsors and their guests for panels, presentations and networking events. More than 600 international TV and media executives are expected to take part in the Festival.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating the 2012 International Emmy Award Nominees at our Festival, a one-of-a-kind networking industry event where one can watch some of the best television in the world and meet with the producers of these shows,” said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
