NEW YORK: IFC has renewed its original comedy Portlandia for fourth and fifth seasons.

Season four will have ten new episodes and will air in 2014. A ten-episode fifth season will launch in early 2015. The show is created and written by Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, who also star in the series. Jonathen Krisel is the show’s director. Lorne Michaels executive produces. Broadway Video is the series’ producer.

Portlandia has celebrated sustainable local agriculture, underemployment, avian crafting, gender politics, intense bicycle messengers and so much more,” said Jennifer Caserta, the president and general manager of IFC. “We can now celebrate two more seasons.”
