Hulu in Exclusive Deal for South Park

LOS ANGELES: Hulu has secured an exclusive, multiyear licensing agreement to stream all seasons of South Park on its Hulu Plus subscription service.

The deal, signed by Hulu and South Park Digital Studios, sees the entire South Park library become available for free on Hulu from now until the premiere of season 18 this fall. Viewers will get next-day access to new episodes on Hulu and Hulu Plus starting with season 18. SouthPark.cc.com will continue to house all seasons of South Park until the start of season 18; after that, Hulu and SouthPark.cc.com will have a revolving selection of free episodes available.

“South Park has revolutionized TV and pushed boundaries with unparalleled topicality and daring humor,” said Craig Erwich, the head of content at Hulu. “South Park has been one of the top ten most popular shows of all time on the platform. We’re thrilled to offer the series to fans in its entirety.”

“This is a natural partnership for us,” said Matt Parker and Trey Stone, creators of South Park. “We are excited that the entire library will be available on Hulu and that the best technology around will power South Park Digital Studios.”

Hulu also announced that it is bringing back East Los High for a third season. The English-language series features an all-Latino cast. The teen drama debuted in the summer of 2013 and has since been one of the most popular shows on Hulu.
