Hulu Goes for Another Season of Casual

SANTA MONICA: Hulu has renewed the Golden Globe-nominated comedy series Casual for a third season.

The second season of the Hulu Original and Lionsgate Television show from Academy Award-nominated director Jason Reitman and creator Zander Lehmann premiered on June 7. Season three is set for 2017 and will be comprised of 13 episodes.

Season two follows Alex (Tommy Dewey), Valerie (Michaela Watkins) and Laura (Tara Lynne Barr) as they discover that new friends, business partners and significant others can only do so much to distract them from a shared and recurring history of dysfunction. Reitman, Lehmann, Helen Estabrook and Liz Tigelaar serve as executive producers on the series.

Additionally, Reitman inked a first-look deal with Hulu for all television-related projects, marking the streaming service’s first development deal of this kind.
