Google Unveils Chromecast Video Streaming Device

MOUNTAIN VIEW: Google is making a further push into the TV landscape, by introducing Chromecast, which plugs into TVs to stream content from the Internet.

The device, which is $35 and 2 inches in length, plugs directly into a TV’s HDMI port to connect with your home WiFi network. Viewers can then stream video from a phone, tablet or computer directly through the television. It works with Netflix, YouTube and more.

Chromecast also lets you use your current devices—tablets, smartphones, computers—as a remote. You can use these existing systems to browse for what to watch, control playback, adjust the volume and other features.
