FXX Adds to Comedy Slate

LOS ANGELES: Jay Baruchel is set to star in a new comedy series for FXX from Broadway Video that is being executive produced by Lorne Michaels.

Man Seeking Woman has received a 10×30-minute order by FXX for a 2015 premiere. It is based on a book of short stories, The Last Girlfriend on Earth, by Simon Rich, a former writer on Saturday Night Live. Rich will serve as exec producer and showrunner. Jonathan Krisel, the director, is also an EP, along with Andrew Singer and Michaels.

Nick Grad, a president of original programming at FX Networks and FX Productions, noted, "Simon Rich has delivered a wholly original, hilarious and fantastical view of single life that features an incredible performance from Jay Baruchel. We feel this is the perfect fit for FXX and are thrilled to pick up the show."
