FX Scores Thor, Gravity, Captain Phillips & Other Box Office Hits

LOS ANGELES: FX Networks has acquired the rights for a number of top theatrical films, among them Thor: The Dark World, which is part of the output deal the company has with Marvel.

Thor: The Dark World, which was the top grossing film at the box office this weekend with $86 million, will be available to the FX suite of channels starting in 2015. Also heading to FX Networks are the box office hits Gravity and Captain Phillips, as well as the films Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and Prisoners.

FX Networks has actually acquired eight of the top ten grossing films of 2013, among them Iron Man 3, Despicable Me 2, Man of Steel, World War Z and Star Trek Into Darkness.
