FX Networks Goes for Comedy Pilot Pariah

LOS ANGELES: FX Networks has placed an order for the comedy pilot Pariah, which stars comedian Bill Burr as a volatile TV personality.

Pariah centers on Joe Abbott, a man who was kicked out of show business after having an on-air meltdown. The pilot, to be directed by Rob McElhenney, was penned by creators and brothers John and Dave Chernin (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia). It is being made by FX Productions in association with RCG Productions, the production company of McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton, who serve as exec producers.

"Bill Burr is a great comedic talent," said Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. "Teaming Bill with Rob, Charlie and Glenn, along with John and Dave is a perfect recipe for a terrific comedy pilot."

"I am really looking forward to making a show with Rob, Dave, John, Charlie and Glenn," stated Burr. "I've been a big fan of Sunny since the beginning of their amazing run. I feel very lucky to be working with them."

The Chernin brothers added: "We believe that Bill, Rob, Glenn, and Charlie are four of the funniest people in comedy today. To work alongside them is a dream come true."
