LOS ANGELES: As Jurassic World continues to dominate the box office across the globe, FX Networks has landed the television rights to the blockbuster hit.

The film from Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment and Legendary is set 20 years after the events of Jurassic Park. Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, it grossed $208.8 million in its debut weekend in the U.S., toppling the previous opening-weekend record held by The Avengers. It has also been dominating the box office internationally.

FX Networks has amassed a strong portfolio of theatrical titles for its bouquet, with other recent acquisitions that include Furious 7, Pitch Perfect 2, Taken 3 and Kingsman: The Secret Service. Last year, FX Networks licensed 64 percent of features that banked more than $100 million at the box office.
