FX Gives First Season Order to Donald Glover Comedy Atlanta

LOS ANGELES: Atlanta, a comedy created by and starring actor/musician Donald Glover, has been picked up for a ten-episode first season on FX in the U.S.

The half-hour series revolves around two cousins making their way up the Atlanta rap scene. FX Productions will produce the series, which will premiere sometime next year.

“Atlanta draws on Donald’s considerable talents as a musician, actor and writer to give us something unique," said Nick Grad, co-president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “The story is made all the more powerful by the great cast and the contributions of Donald’s fellow executive producer Paul Simms and director Hiro Murai. We can't wait to for the debut of Atlanta next year.”
