LOS ANGELES: FOX Sports 1 is set for launch on August 17 with all major distributors across the U.S., marking the biggest sports cable network debut in history.

The soon-to-launch network will carry nearly 5,000 hours of live event, news and original programming annually. This includes college basketball, college football, NASCAR, soccer, boxing and UFC. In 2014, FOX Sport’s new agreement with the MLB takes effect.

Mike Hopkins, the president of distribution at Fox Networks, said: “We are thrilled that virtually all pay-television customers across America will have access to FOX Sports 1. This network launch is a major milestone for Fox and will alter the sports television landscape. We are grateful to our distribution partners for making this all possible.”
