PASADENA: FOX is planning to skip out on the annual TV-pilot process, according to Kevin Reilly, the chairman of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company.

"We are essentially this year, really for the first time, bypassing pilot season," Reilly told reporters at the TCA. "The broadcasting, development and scheduling system was built for a different era. It was built [during] a three-network monopoly, where you had all of the talent and all of the audience."

“We’ve been trying to do away with pilot season for a long time at FOX,” Reilly said. “The broadcast scheduling process was built for a different era…. We don’t live in that age anymore.”
