FOX & NYTVF Seek Comedy Pitches

NEW YORK: FOX and NYTVF have teamed up for the seventh edition of their annual Comedy Script Contest, with the winning series being developed for pilot presentation at the network.

This year’s contest comes with a twist: only alumni of past competitions are allowed to submit show concepts. NYTVF officials will review the entries, narrowing the pool down to five scripts. The finalists will be presented to FOX development executives, with a winner being chosen to develop a five- to seven-minute pilot presentation.

“FOX has been a visionary and groundbreaking partner of the NYTVF since our founding, and this is a truly exceptional way to commemorate that relationship and our tenth Festival,” said NYTVF founder Terence Gray. “To be able to offer a guaranteed development opportunity of this magnitude to an emerging writer is unprecedented and I’m thrilled that the NYTVF will be playing a role in the project's development and production as we move forward.”

“FOX is so pleased to raise the bar with this year’s seventh annual FOX-NYTVF Comedy Script Contest, taking it beyond script development by ensuring that the winning script will be developed for pilot presentation,” said Suzanna Makkos, the executive VP of comedy development and programming for Fox Broadcasting Company. “What a fantastic way to celebrate ten years of the NYTVF and to recognize and honor the humor, originality and passion of the NYTVF creatives, who so impress us and far surpass our expectations year after year.”
