Former Weinstein, NBCU Execs Join Digital Producer Indigenous Media

LOS ANGELES: Indigenous Media, which produces original content for digital and emerging platforms, has brought in Ben Fast and Maira Nevarez as executive VPs.

Fast was previously the director of scripted television at The Weinstein Company. He now joins Indigenous as executive VP of development.

Nevarez is a former VP of finance for E! Entertainment and Esquire Television Networks at NBCUniversal. She has been tapped as executive VP of finance and operations.

Both executives report to Jake Avnet, co-founder of Indigenous.

“We are looking forward to ramping up development and production of content across multiple platforms in 2016 which is why we are expanding our senior management team,” said co-founder Jon Avnet.

“Ben and Maira bring strong traditional media experience coupled with entrepreneurial spirit and digital know-how,” added Rodrigo Garcia, also a co-founder.
