Former Pivot President Evan Shapiro Takes Digital Role at NBCU

NEW YORK: NBCUniversal has hired Evan Shapiro as executive VP of digital enterprises, a newly created post for the company.

Shapiro steps into the role as of December 8 and will be based in New York. He will report to Cesar Conde, the executive VP of NBCU. Shapiro comes to the company after having served as president of Participant Media's Pivot, which he helped to launch in August 2013. Prior to that, he was president of the IFC and Sundance channels.

“Evan brings a robust understanding of emerging media trends and extensive experience programming for the millennial audience to NBCUniversal,” said Conde. “He’s a seasoned strategic thinker with a strong track record of programming, production and digital marketing successes. His leadership will be a key asset as we continue to navigate the evolving marketplace.”
