Industry veteran Nancy Cotton has been appointed as the executive VP of original programming at EPIX.

In this role, Cotton reports to Michael Wright, the newly named president of EPIX. She works out of the EPIX Los Angeles office at MGM’s headquarters. Cotton will be in charge of development and production of all scripted original series, working in partnership with Wright to advance EPIX’s position as a destination for premium, award-winning programming that complements its slate of movies from leading studios. Cotton joins EPIX from David Heyman’s Heyday TV USA. From 2007 to 2016, Cotton was senior VP of creative affairs at Fox 21 Television Studios.

“I’ve known and had the pleasure of working with Nancy on many projects over the years, and she is one of the most skilled television executives in the business,” said Wright. “Her taste, experience and talent relationships are first rate and a huge addition to our team. We are fortunate to have Nancy join EPIX at a time when the network is rapidly expanding, both its original programming and its distribution platforms, and her ability to attract and nurture great content will be vital to our growth.”

Cotton added, “I’m thrilled to be working with Michael and the team at EPIX to continue to build the network into a choice destination for creative talent. EPIX has a powerful reach that presents an incredible opportunity for fresh, compelling storytelling, and I’m beyond excited to hit the ground running.”
