E! Unveils New Original Digital Series

LOS ANGELES: E! has revealed a slate of eight new original digital series that span such genres as entertainment news, fashion and lifestyle, as well as the network's first digital scripted comedy, Hashtaggers.

Hashtaggers spotlights a dysfunctional group of celebrity ghost tweeters and the outrageous repercussions their work has on the entertainment industry. The eight-part show is slated to premiere in February 2016. Another new digital series for E! is The Royal Hangover, a social post-show live stream that will recap episodes from the second season of the network's hit scripted series The Royals. That program will make its debut on November 15.

There is also Glam Squad (working title), a comedic look at what it means to be in Hollywood's inner circle; TV Scoop Companion Series (working title), which sees E! Online's TV Scoop team cover the most buzz-worthy moments around television's biggest shows; and Ranked, which launches next month and will provide a definitive list of all things pop culture.

Additional new digital series for E! include Fashion Bloggers, a tentatively titled show that follows emerging fashion superstars who have used social media to create their own individual celebrity; Three to Be, a weekly series in which style experts teach viewers how to use three stylish pieces to bring out their inner celebrity; and Random Fandom, which explores the craziest and most committed fan communities from the entertainment industry.

All of the new series will be featured on E! News' revamped YouTube channel, which launches in December. These shows will also be available through E! Online, the E! Online app, and across all social platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

"With this new slate, we are developing and producing more original digital video content than ever before, and it has been exciting to collaborate with the creative community as we bring to life original programming that hits E!'s pop-culture sweet spot," said John Najarian, the executive VP and general manager for E! News and Digital. "By modifying the content to reflect the unique characteristics of each platform, we are delivering these shows directly to viewers through the digital channel they prefer and reinforcing our position as a truly multiplatform brand for our young adult audience. Plus, E! is a uniquely nimble on-air network with topical programming that allows us the opportunity to extend our digital franchises to our TV audience in a variety of ways."
