SEATTLE: Prime Instant Video has become the exclusive streaming home of titles from Drafthouse Films, the film distribution arm of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, following a deal between Amazon and Cinedigm.

Drafthouse releases already available include Cheap Thrills, with David Koechner and Ethan Embry; Ben Wheatley’s A Field in England; the sci-fi cult classic The Visitor; and Abel Ferrara’s Ms. 45. In the coming months, Prime subscribers will gain access to, among others, The Congress, with Robin Wright, Harvey Keitel, Paul Giamatti and Jon Hamm; Borgman, the Netherlands’ official 2014 Oscar entry; Michel Gondry’s Mood Indigo; and 20,000 Days on Earth, a documentary featuring Nick Cave.

“We know our customers love great independent films and we are excited to add these engaging indies from Drafthouse Films exclusively to Prime Instant Video,” said Brad Beale, the director of digital video content acquisition for Amazon. “These film festival favorites and award winners are both provocative and entertaining, and we know Prime members will enjoy watching them.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled that Cinedigm secured this deal with Amazon for our titles,” noted Drafthouse Films COO James Emanuel Shapiro.
