Disney|ABC Television Group Launches “Be Inspired” Interstitials

Disney|ABC Television Group is debuting new “Be Inspired” interstitials this month on Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD and ABC as part of its commitment to encourage kids, families and communities to create the future they imagine.

Be Your Best Snackdown, hosted by Lilan Bowden, who stars in Andi Mack, premiered yesterday on Disney Channel. The cooking competition features Disney Channel stars working together with kids to create nutritious and easy-to-prepare snacks representing different cultures. DuckTales Travel the Globe also premiered yesterday on Disney XD. Inspiring Disney XD viewers to try unique and nutritious food choices from around the world, DuckTales characters Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby have adventures across the globe in a quest to be their best.

September 18 also saw the debut of Flavors of the World with Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior, the Disney Junior programming block on Disney Channel and Disney Junior on YouTube. It will also appear on the Disney Junior app on Thursday, October 5. Inspiring young viewers and their parents to make healthier choices, Doc McStuffins meets with kids and prominent chefs from around Los Angeles to discuss the importance of nutritious foods and healthy habits in each interstitial.

In addition, Hispanic Heritage Month programming will see Disney Channel and Disney Junior debut interstitials that spotlight Princess Elena from the animated series Elena of Avalor, and real-life professionals from the worlds of music, science and sports, inspiring kids to follow their dreams and be their best. The interstitials will feature Gustavo Dudamel, who currently serves as music and artistic director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; Stephen Baca, an entomologist who has helped clear a path for underrepresented minorities in the STEM fields; and Katie Johnson, who plays for the Mexico women’s national football team and Seattle Reign FC women’s soccer team.

Disney Channel will also introduce viewers to a range of Hispanic traditions and values through personal stories told in six original interstitials by actress Sofia Carson (Descendant 2), and Stuck in the Middle cast members Jenna Ortega, Isaak Presley, Kayla Maisonet, Nicolas Bechtel and Ariana Greenblatt. Disney XD is also showcasing Jose Lopez, the Emmy Award-winning character designer of the animated TV series Big Hero 6.

In addition, Be Your Best on ABC’s The Chew runs September 18 through 22. “The Chew Crew” shares how people across the country are helping their communities live happier, healthier lives. Recipes prepared by The Chew hosts will also feature the new ABC Check, a way for families to identify healthier foods and recipes that meet Disney’s nutrition guidelines.
