Disney/ABC Television Group Appoints New CTO

BURBANK: Disney/ABC Television Group has elevated Skarpi Hedinsson to the position of chief technology officer.

In his new role, Hedinsson will be tasked with developing and implementing advanced technology strategies and solutions to drive the group’s consumer- and business-facing products and services. He will focus on the use, optimization and replenishment of current technology solutions, and will also have an expanded responsibility for identifying forward-looking digital technologies. He will partner with Renu Thomas, the newly appointed executive VP of media operations, engineering and IT. Hedinsson will report to John Frelinghuysen, the executive VP of digital media, strategy and business development.

“Skarpi and his team have been responsible for some of the most innovative digital media products, not just at our company, but within the industry at large,” said Frelinghuysen. “His forward-thinking and technical expertise have helped position Disney|ABC Television Group as a leader in the ever-changing digital landscape.”
