Discovery Hires VP of Licensing & Global Location-Based Entertainment

LOS ANGELES: Discovery Communications has appointed Robert Marick as VP of North American licensing and global location-based entertainment for Discovery Consumer Products.

In his new role, Marick is charged with the strategy and development of products across the Discovery family of channels for both the U.S. and Canada. He is also responsible for the division's location-based entertainment program worldwide.

Previously, Marick worked for such companies as Disney, FOX, Time Warner and Mattel. He has experience supervising operations for sales, marketing, creative, finance and general management. He began his career in toys before moving into such categories as music, home entertainment, gaming and location-based entertainment.

"Robert's track record for building successful brands and licensing programs is unmatched. He possesses unique insight enabling him to transform entertainment properties into engaging and innovative programs at retail," said Nicolas Bonard, the senior VP of Discovery Consumer Products.
