Deborah Turness Hired to Lead NBC News

NEW YORK: Deborah Turness, who formerly served as editor for ITV News, has been named president of NBC News. 

Turness joins a team that includes Mark Hoffman, the president of CNBC, and Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC, as part of the NBCUniversal News Group, reporting to Pat Fili-Krushel, the chairman of NBCUniversal News Group. Turness takes on responsibility for all aspects of the NBC News division, including NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Today and Dateline. She also oversees its news bureaus around the world. Breaking news, investigative and enterprise reporting all fall within her remit. Additionally, Turness has oversight for Peacock Productions.
