LOS ANGELES: Larry David is returning for a ninth season of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, which last aired on the network in 2011.

With 80 episodes to date, Curb Your Enthusiasm is HBO’s longest-running scripted show. David stars in the comedy series, in addition to serving as writer and executive producer.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said Casey Bloys, the president of HBO programming.

When asked why he decided to come back, David said, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.'”
