Cox Offers Live TV iPad App

ATLANTA: Cox Communications is following in the footsteps of other U.S. cable operators such as Time Warner, Cablevision and DirectTV in launching an app for the iPad that works as an additional screen for viewers to get live streaming video.

The Cox TV Connect app includes access to national cable TV channels at no additional charge. The service is initially available to Cox customers with Preferred, Premium or Ultimate Cox High Speed Internet service, Cox TV Essential service or higher and a DOCSIS modem.

"Cox offers convenience through convergence and TV Connect is a new way we are making viewing more convenient and flexible for our customers," said Steve Necessary, the VP of video product development and management at Cox. "Our TV Connect offering will continue to evolve and expand, adding even more value to our services."
